Obituary For Gretchen W. Sell

Gretchen W. Sell Oct. 6, 1938-Nov. 18, 2021

Gretchen W. Sell, 83, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord at Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center Thursday after an extended illness. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Milton and Gail (Bohlman) Wills. Gretchen married Ray D. Sell, Jr. on August 3, 1957 in Altoona. Gretchen is survived by her loving husband of 64 years; three daughters: Deborah (Rick) Auker of Altoona, Gail (Eric) Stoltz of Blue Knob, Jennifer (Rob) Rupert of Laureldale, Pa; four grandchildren: Nichole (Gus) Reyna, Justin Auker, Nicholas Stoltz (Audbrey) and Cameron Rupert; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Michael Wills of Lacey, WA. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Calvin. Gretchen was a 1956 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as a Leader from Weight Watchers after 42 years of service and as a Receptionist with the Altoona Mirror after 16 years. She was an active member at First Grace Brethren Church of Altoona. Gretchen was a Deaconess and enjoyed singing in the choir. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.     My thoughts and prayers are with Ray and Family. I have very fond memories of Gretchen when I was growing up as she was a lovely and caring individual that I greatly respected....I have very special memories of her beautiful voice when singing in Church. Mark Sell

    To the Sell family...You have my Deepest Sympathy. Gretchen will surely be remembered by so many people. I know she has touched the lives of many .I'm thankful to have known her through church and W.W....     Gretchen was my first WW leader and I always enjoyed her pleasant personality and sense of humor. Everyone thought we were related but only shared the same last name. Prayers for your family at this difficult time.
