H. Louise Brunhuber
November 21, 1926 – March 15, 2025
H. Louise Brunhuber, 98, Altoona, peacefully passed away Saturday at Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Harry and Dolly (Treese) Pine. She married Francis A. Brunhuber August 16, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2001.
She is survived by a son, Francis X. Brunhuber (Barbara), 2 daughters: Beth Geishauser (George) and Mary Lou Georgiana (Vince) all of Altoona; ten grandchildren: Damon Brunhuber (Kelly), Andrew Brunhuber (Valerie), Noah and Piper Brunhuber, Amy Georgiana (Matt Black), Andrea Georgiana (Mitch Magoshi), Matthew Georgiana, Ryan Geishauser (Meghan), Katie Husted (Corey) and Tera Westley (Thad); and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Louise was the last surviving member of her immediate family, her four brothers preceded her in death, Edward “Bud”, Richard “Paul”, David and Wayne Pine.
She was a graduate of Altoona High School. Louise had formerly worked at the Altoona YMCA as a Nautilus Instructor and at Bishop Guilfoyle High School in the Bookstore and helped with ticket sales. Louise was later Enshrined into the BG Ring of Honor.
Louise was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she enjoyed singing and being a longtime member of the church choir.
She enjoyed reading and volunteering her time at the Sacred Heart Food Pantry and Encompass-formerly Health South Rehabilitation. Louise loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and theirs friends, who loving referred to her as “Teed.”
Friends will be received from 4-7 pm, Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 511 20th St., Altoona, PA 16602, with Fr. Lubomir Strecok, celebrant. Committal will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The family requests that contributions may be made in Louise’s memory to: Sacred Heart Food Pantry, 2009 6th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
