I am sorry to hear of June's passing. I was a member of her FPC art group- we met every week at her house. There were 5 of us, and we formed fast friendships. June was a gracious host and a wonderful friend. We enjoyed our lunches and painting sessions. She was an amazing artist. To her family, just know she always spoke about you with love and pride.

My grandmother, Zatae Lear Clarke, was a good friend of Florence Slep, who I remember from the days when they both lived in the apartment building at 611 Allegheny St. in Hollidaysburg. I can recall going to a Slep birthday party in the late 60s at a house in Altoona, possibly on Union Avenue. I believe that when I visited the family when Harry E. Slep, III passed away June referred to my grandmother as "Aunt Zatae," so I know that the Clarkes and Sleps were fast friends back in the day. I apologized for my appearance during the visitation because I had been cutting firewood that day and only found out about the services that day. June said that she didn't mind because Harry loved the smell of two-cycle engine exhaust. Condolences to the Slep family from my family. Chip Clarke a/k/a Harry E. Clarke, III
