Obituary For Helen M. Farber

Helen M. Farber July 15, 1930-April 29, 2022

Helen M. Farber, 91, Altoona, passed away Friday at her residence. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Josephine (Myers) Baker. Helen married Charles D. Farber on Nov. 27, 1952 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Juniata; he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 2008 after 55 years of marriage. Helen is survived by her children: Leanne Maucieri and husband Jeff of Juniata and Charles G. “Jerry” Farber and wife Anita of Altoona; six grandchildren: Rachel, Amanda and Tori Farber, Anne Gray and husband Nate, Abigail and Ryan Maucieri and three great-grandchildren, Evangeline, Ben and Charlie Gray; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan McHenry. Helen was a 1949 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and attended business school. She retired as owner of Colonial Card and Candle. Helen was also a part-time assistant with Special Ed for AASD and Home Nursing Easter Seals. Helen enjoyed crafts, flowers, gardening and going to Rocky Gap Casino; but most of all loved spending time with her family. She was a life-time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Juniata. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602 where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 900 N. 4th St., Altoona, Pa. 16601, celebrant, Fr. Michael Pleva. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
