Obituary For Helen M. Fornwalt

Helen M. Fornwalt Sept. 29, 1920-Jan. 6, 2021

Helen M. Fornwalt, 100, Blair Towers of Altoona, passed away Wednesday on the feast of the Epiphany at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Leroy and Genevieve (Wharton) Farabaugh. Helen married Roy A. Fornwalt at St. Therese Catholic Church on Nov. 17, 1945, he preceded her in death, Jan. 23, 1978. Helen is survived by her son, Fred A. (Donna) Fornwalt of Altoona; a brother, Kenneth M. Farabaugh of Indiana, PA; and three nieces, two nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. Also survived by special friends, Greg and Gloria Stafford, Betty Kozar and Dottie Geesey; and her grand-dog, Teddi. She was a 1939 graduate of Altoona High School and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lakemont. Helen enjoyed traveling, reading, concerts and spending time with her many friends. For many years, being a caregiver to family members was a big part of Helen’s life. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to the 11:00 a.m. funeral mass, Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 344 Baynton Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, Msgr. Michael Becker officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
