Howard R. “Red” Noel Aug. 19, 1936-Nov. 10, 2022

Howard R. “Red” Noel, 86, Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Robert D. and Lillian (Young) Noel. Howard married Sylvia L. Cutshall on April 8, 1958 in Winchester, Virginia. He is survived by his loving wife of Hollidaysburg; two sons: Howard R. Noel, Jr. and Kenneth B. Noel both of Altoona; a daughter, Karen L. Butler (Kevin) of Ray City, GA; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by his son, Thomas A. Noel and a brother, Robert D. Noel, Jr. Howard was a 1954 graduate of Altoona High School. He retired from the Blair County Prison as a Sergeant with 20 years of service. Howard also worked as a carpet layer for Wolf Furniture for several years. He enjoyed bowling, working in the yard, and tinkering in his shed. Howard loved taking long drives on the back roads all over the United States with Sylvia, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly with his grandchildren.
