Ina Denise (Hopkins) Ortiz

November 19, 1955-May 21, 2025

Ina Denise (Hopkins) Ortiz, 69, of Altoona, peacefully passed away Wednesday evening at her residence after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born in Oneonta, New York, the daughter of the late Irving and Ingaborg (Sakshaug) Hopkins.

Ina is survived by her loving husband, Edwin Ortiz, Jr.; three sons: Donald, Erick and Edwin; two daughters: Carla and Laura; thirteen grandchildren, which she adored and her four siblings: Edward, Carla, Lorna and Mona; also, her beloved pet dog, Lulu May.

She worked for over 20 years as a Certified Nurse’s Aide and was deeply loved by her patients for her diligent care. Ina enjoyed playing bingo, reading Tarot cards and was an accomplished cook, who loved preparing meals for her family.
