Obituary For James D. Weaver

James D. Weaver April 5, 1940-Sept. 6, 2022

James D. Weaver, 82, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona, surrounded by his family. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Bernard and Alberta (Inlow) Weaver. James married Elaine Seidel on July 2, 1971. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 51 years; three daughters: Karen (Tom) Connery of Maryland, Kathleen (Ed) Zeak of New Oxford and Jennifer (Cory) Geishauser of Altoona; daughter-in-law, Donna Kling of Altoona; nine grandchildren: Jamie, Jennifer, Jessica, Chelsea, A.J., Rylee, Madeline, Morgan and Mikayla; four great-grandchildren: J.J., Brenton, Mabel and Jackson; three siblings: Barney (Phyllis) Weaver of Pittsburgh, Linda Martz and Theresa Logan both of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons: Michael Kling and J. Kirk Kling and two brothers: Robert Weaver and David Weaver. Jim was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as an aircraft engine mechanic during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired with 30 years of service from PPG as a solderer. Jim was a member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. He was a member with the Brush Mountain Sportsman Association, Unter Uns and the Bavarian Aid Society. Jim enjoyed hunting, trips to the beach, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. Friends will be received from 4-6 pm on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022 at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament with Msgr. Stanley Carson celebrant. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.     Dear Elaine and Family, Although we are far away, please accept our most heartfelt sympathies. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during these difficult times. Jimmy was so very special to all of us, especially our darling dad! May they enjoy Friday Night Grass Cutting and Miller Lite Night together in heaven with all our darling angels. These gentlemen, our heroes, all so very special, will be missed but will never be forgotten as they all captured a special place in our hearts. We were always so very grateful for your kindness and considerations to us over all the years and loved the family felt connections between our families.
