Obituary For Janet K. Flegal

Janet K. Flegal August 22, 1938 – August 25, 2020

Janet K. Flegal, 82, formerly of Altoona, passed away Tuesday at Richland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Janet was born in Phillipsburg, daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Habasevich ) Kisinkie. On July 15, 1961, she married Robert Flegal, Sr. who preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Robert Flegal, Jr. and wife Lauren; grandchildren: Kaitlin and Dillon all of Farmington, NM; a daughter, Jane Williams and husband Dave of Johnstown; grandson, Derrick Flegal and wife Anastasia; great-granddaughters: Gabrielle and Jocelyn Flegal; step grandchildren: Michael Williams and wife Chelsea, Trista Lombardo and husband Joe and Darren Williams and wife Isabella; and step-great-grandchildren: Blake, Mason, and Marleigh Williams. She was preceded in death by a son, David Flegal and sisters: Maryann Simler and Carol Thompson. Janet retired from the Altoona School District as a teacher’s assistant and was previously the Director of Blair County Special Olympics. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and enjoyed making crafts and designing flower arrangements. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Blair County Special Olympics, P.O. Box 648 Altoona,16603 in Janet’s memory.     I can remember years ago when janet worked with my mom and jeanie ergler at the learning express preschool she will be greatly missed by my mom and me

    Janet always had a way of making me laugh. She was very sweet and she always had her saying when talking to her she would say lord love a duck or don't get your panties in a bunch. Loved her special olympics athletes and coach's and will deeply be misses
