Janet L. Leipold

February 3, 1936-May 8, 2024

Janet L. Leipold, 88, Altoona, passed away Wednesday evening at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Percy and Hazel (Patterson) Reed.

Janet married Donald E. Leipold on June 8, 1942 in Altoona, he preceded her in death on June 29, 2018.

She is survived by her daughter, Jamie A. Rhyner (Warren) of Altoona; four grandchildren: Sadie Rhyner, Lukas Rhyner, Kevin Snyder, Jr. (Mary) and Jennifer McLaughlin; three great-grandchildren: Zoey Snyder, Charlotte Snyder and Janel Koelle (Robbie); and three great-great-grandchildren: Brayden, Alanah and Hunter.

Janet was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta K. Snyder.

She was a 1954 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.

Janet was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

She enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren. Many of the children from Juniata Gap Elementary, whom rode the bus home will miss greeting her daily and singing songs to her during the holidays.

At Janet’s request, there will be no visitation or services.
