Obituary For Jared C. Irvin

Jared C. Irvin

May 26, 1984-May 4, 2024

Jared Irvin, 39, Altoona, beloved son of Ruth A. (Dorman) Irvin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 4th. He leaves a legacy of strength, love, and laughter that will remain forever in the hearts of the people who knew him and loved him.

Jared leaves behind his only son Mason who was a beacon of light for him and the greatest joy in his life. Jared is also survived by his fiancé Lori and her son Christopher; mother Ruth; brothers: Justin (Jaime), Joshua (Jenn & her daughter Kailee), sister, Lauren (Randy); father Mark; nephews: Jacob, Jace & Jonah Irvin, Ridge Williams; niece, Jada Irvin & maternal grandmother, Janet Dorman.

Jared was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gerald Dorman.

Jared was a fighter who overcame numerous obstacles throughout his lifetime. He was not defined by his struggles; he was a devoted son, father, brother, uncle, grandson, fiancé, and friend.

A simple and solitude person, Jared found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was a self-taught guitarist and he enjoyed recording cover songs. He cherished spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He loved archery hunting and looked forward to spending the fall out in the woods. He and Lori shared an unconditional love for each other and could often be found casting a line or kayaking with Mason. One of the greatest memories Jared always loved to share was catching a 19’’ palomino trout on a blueberry with his son.

One of Jared’s greatest passions was watching Mason play little league baseball. He always tried to instill sportsmanship and his love for the game as he coached his son. Jared was a devoted father and his bond with Mason went beyond that of a father and son; they were truly best friends. If you ask Mason about his dad, he would say, “he told great stories & he had jokes.”

Quick-witted and never one to hold back, Jared had a unique ability to make people laugh. His banter with his brothers was legendary, and his sharp wit will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Jared had a special bond with both his mother and his sister Lauren, who always showed him unconditional love. Their bond was a source of strength and comfort throughout Jared's life.

It is impossible to put into words how much he will be missed and the affect he has had on our lives. He was loved greatly and will forever be the missing part of our family. May he find peace and rest in the glory of heaven.

It’s not good-bye, it’s until we meet again.

A private viewing and service was held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are provided by The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.

Our memories of Jared are of him with Mason.... At the basketball court, the baseball field, playing in the yard, and most recently him showing Mason how to cut the grass! They were like 2 buddies just hanging out!! Our condolences to Ruth, Justin, Josh, Lauren and families. Pat & Peggy
