Joan Griffith Feb. 12, 1930 – Oct. 29, 2020

Joan Griffith, 90, Boiling Springs, Pa., formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday, unexpectedly at her residence. Joan was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Salmond) Dobson. On Aug. 7, 1954 she married Calvin G. Griffith III at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Altoona, he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2013. Surviving is her son, Peter (Bobbi) Griffith of Charlotte, NC; and daughter, Amy Griffith-Daubert (Robert Weese); two grandchildren, Carly and Andrew; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Gilbert of Santa Cruz, CA. Joan was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Thomas Dobson. Joan was a graduate of Penn State University. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church of Altoona. Friends will be received from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602 where Covid-19 protocols will be followed. A Funeral service will be held, at noon in the Stevens Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Alto Reste Park, Altoona.
