Joanne B. (Corl) Seifert May 10, 1933-April 28, 2022

Joanne B. (Corl) Seifert, 88, Altoona, passed away at Maybrook Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center Thursday morning after a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Bernard L. and Genevieve E. (Wilson) Hollern. Joanne was twice married, first to Donald F. “Amos” Corl, who preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1979; she then married Thomas Seifert. Joanne is survived by her loving children: Donald P. Corl (Vivian), Scott T. Corl, Kimberly Carrieri (Joseph) all of Altoona, Jack R. Corl (Amanda) of Cherry Tree and Donna K. Fetter (Roger) of State College; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Patricia Byrne and Kay DeAngelis (Rooney) both of Altoona; her sister-in-law, Lynette Hollern of Cumberland, MD; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews with whom she shared a special bond with. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Regina Panek and Marjorie Ginnick; six brothers: James, Robert, William, Bernard, Michael and David “Butch”; and three half siblings: Mary, Helen Gheret and Joseph. Joanne attended Altoona Catholic High School and went on to work in retail for many years. She enjoyed reading, but especially took great Irish pride in her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 10:00 am-1:00 pm at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Reverend Eli Hess as celebrant.
