Obituary For Joel K. Kyle

Joel K. Kyle, Sr. Nov. 9, 1959 - Feb. 9, 2023

Joel K. Kyle, Sr., 63, Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Altoona. He will be dearly missed by his entire family. He was born in Altoona, son of James Kyle and the late Nadine (Mauk) Kyle. He is survived by his father, James Kyle (Barbara) of Hollidaysburg; two sons: Joel K. Kyle, Jr. (Cessy) and Brian Holes, both of Altoona; three grandchildren: Anessa Holes, Joelian Kyle, and Cambri Kyle: sister Jayme Brantlinger and daughter Jessica of Altoona; two brothers: James Kyle (Deb) of Martinsburg, John Kyle and Son Ryan of Hollidaysburg; other siblings: Janine Campbell (John) of Hollidaysburg, Jamie Cheers (Janie) of Altoona, Beth Adeson (Peter) of Fairfax VA, Kristen Kulik (James) of Altoona, and Amy Boland (Michael) of Hollidaysburg; the mother of his sons, Kathie Kyle of Altoona; Three aunts: Edith Kyle of Tyrone, Trudy Nale of Altoona, and Nancy Swanger of Mechanicsburg,PA; special friends, Christina Harpster (David) and John Nagle of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his soulmate of 13 years, Sue Frye. Joel was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He had been working for the City of Altoona Highway Division and had previously worked at General Cable for 28 years. Joel was a member of the Jaffa Shrine Color Guard and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, boating, and camping at Raystown. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 18th, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. Held at Synago House of Worship 3003 Walnut Avenue, Altoona, PA.
