John A. “Bumper” Traficante

June 13, 1937-June 24, 2026

John A. “Bumper” Traficante, 89, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday morning at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late John and Olive (Stephens) Traficante.

On May 28, 1958, John married, Donna J. Johnson.

Surviving John is his loving wife and three daughters and their spouses: Tina Mitchell (Walt) of Everett, Stacy Gutshall (Tim) of Hobe Sound, FL and Kelly Park (Ron) of Altoona; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Wilson.

John was a 1955 graduate of Altoona High School and afterwards joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.

He was the owner and operator of Johnny’s New & Used Furniture.

He was a member at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.

John was a life-member at the UVA.

Friends will be received from 5-8 pm, Friday, June 26, 2026 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, June 27, 2026 in the Stevens Memorial Chapel by the Franciscan Fathers and with military honors.

Committal will be held at Alto-Reste Park.
