Judith Ann Caputo

Judith Ann Caputo, 83, formerly of Altoona, passed away at Homewood at Martinsburg following an extended illness.

She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Lucy (Grassi) Caputo, Sr.

Judy is survived by her brother, Daniel J. Caputo, Jr. (Sally) of Oregon; sister, Mary Lou Kaltenbaugh of Delaware; two nieces: Maria Caputo of Montana and Dawn Batey (James) of California; two nephews: David S. Kaltenbaugh (Dr. Jane) and their sons: Alex and Aidan of Delaware; and Brian R. Kaltenbaugh (Susan) and their daughters: Sarah and Molly of West Virginia; and her special cousin, Lenora Weaver of Altoona.

She was a 1957 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. Judy retired after 40 years of service as an office manager and bookkeeper.

Judy was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where she was a lector and also a Family Life Committee member.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed music, especially opera and classical.

Friends will be received from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 806 11th St., Altoona, Pa. 16602 with the Franciscan Fathers. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
