Julia O. Maillard July 31, 1921-Sept. 15, 2021

Julia O. Maillard, 100, of Altoona, passed away at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness. She was born in Huntingdon the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Ofiska) Zebroski. Julia married Edward J. Maillard on Sept. 23, 1940, he preceded her in death on February 5, 1991. Julia is survived by two daughters, Barbara (William) Long and Carole McElhinney both of Altoona; seven grandchildren ten great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; and her former daughter-in-law, Linda Wolfe, She was the last surviving member of her family and was preceded in death by her son, Edward J. Maillard, Jr; son-in-law, Joel McElhinney and siblings: John, Walter and Thomas Zebroski, Martha Sczerba and Genevieve Rider. Julia was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Altoona and loved spending quality time with her family. Friends will be received from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1405 5th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602 with Fr. Lubomir Strecok.
