Julie I. Petitt Feb. 9, 1960-Dec. 21, 2022

Julie I. Petitt, 62, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Tyrone, the daughter of the late Albert and Margaret (Riggleman) Fleck. Julie married Thomas C. Petitt on June 21, 1996, he preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2022. Julie is survived by her son, Lee Grassmyer; a stepdaughter, Crystal Bischoff (Robert) all of Altoona; sister, Polly Updike of Tyrone; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Grassmyer; two sisters: Cindy Supina and Margaret “Peg” White; and brother, Buck Fleck. Julie was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School. She retired from Skills of Central PA. Julie enjoyed traveling, camping and going on adventures with Tom; she also loved giving of her time through volunteering and helping others. Friends will be received from 11:00 am-12:45 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm in the Stevens Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Rachel Neely-Pletcher.
