Kathy Ann Cecchine Jan. 25, 1946 – Dec. 16, 2023
Kathy Ann Cecchine, 77, Altoona, passed away at her residence Saturday afternoon.
She was born on in Altoona, daughter of the late Harry A. and Louise M. (Benton) Miller. On Sept. 23, 1967, she married Raymond Allen Cecchine at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Altoona, who survives.
She is also survived by her daughter, Melissa (James) of Arlington, Va.; four brothers: H. Andrew Miller (Mary Jo) of Altoona, Philip Miller (Liz) of Buffalo, N.Y., Thomas Miller (Betsy) of Altoona and John Miller (Connie) of Cresson; six sisters: Jane Strasser of Duncansville, Marjorie Partner of Hollidaysburg, Barbara Shoup (Tim) of Sinking Valley, Theresa Venturi (Rick) of Mountain Top, Bernadette Michelone of Duncansville and Laura Boore (Larry) of Scotch Valley; a brother-in-law, Graeme St. Clair; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Louise St. Clair and Sally F. Rowe; and by four brothers-in-law: Ronnie Strasser, Barry Michelone, Jim Trotsky and Ken Partner.
Kathy was a 1963 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and was an LPN working for forty-five years at Mercy Hospital and the Altoona Hospital in radiation oncology. She was a life member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers and worked the church fish fries.
She enjoyed boating, gardening and helping others. She volunteered at Garvey Manor Nursing Home and Reaping Ministry. She also helped her husband at Cecchine Photographic. She was a member of the Flood City and Altoona Corvette Clubs.
Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Father James Dugan officiating.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Kathy.
