Obituary For Kenneth F. Rahm

Kenneth F. Rahm February 3, 1943-September 8, 2022

Kenneth F. Rahm, 79, Altoona, passed away Thursday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Joseph D. and Anna (Schoch) Rahm. Ken was twice married, first to Carole Marlin and then to Ellen Nagle in 1998. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Ellen of 24 years; three daughters: Michele (Stephen) Giacomucci of Phoenixville, Deborah (Daniel) Brodeur of Lansdowne and Brenda (Thomas) Bartkowski of Clarks Summit; ten grandchildren; a brother, Francis Rahm of North Huntingdon and two sisters: Bertha Lear of Altoona and Dolores Schirff of Tipton. He was preceded in death by five of his siblings: Joseph Rahm, Robert Rahm, Erna Hocherl, Helen Hanlon and Lillian Hallinan. Ken was a 1961 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. He enjoyed asking people what the first class was to graduate from the new building, knowing full well that it was his class. Ken was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Simplex Time Recorder Co. as a meter tester. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was previously a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Ken enjoyed bowling and was a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society where he bowled for over 40 years. He liked playing pinochle as well, but especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Friends will be received from 4-7 pm on Monday, Sept. 12, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona with Fr. Lubomir Strecok, celebrant. Committal will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
