Larry M. Stoltenberg Nov. 2, 1939 – Nov. 4, 2020 Larry M. Stoltenberg, 81, of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness. Larry was born in Altoona, son of the late Harry W. and Margaret A. (Fliegerbauer) Stoltenberg. On Apr. 29, 1967 he married Donna L. DeFiore, she preceded him in death on, May 26, 2018. Surviving are a son, Kirk (Kellie) Stoltenberg and daughter, Penny M. Smith both of Altoona; eleven grandchildren: Kyle, Kirsten, Katherine, Kari, Khloe, Kiera, Bailey, Finnley, Asher, Drue and Piper; two great-granddaughters, Emma and Ella Mae. Larry was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kevin and Zachary. He was a graduate of Altoona High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Larry retired in 1991 from the City of Altoona Fire Department with over 20 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing word search puzzles. Larry was a member of the Dry Hollow Hunting Camp. Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where Covid-19 protocols will be followed. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Fr. Jonathan Dickson officiating. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
