Obituary For Leslie "Lacey" J. Kraft

Leslie “Lacey” J. Kraft Oct. 25, 1949 – Oct. 19, 2020

Leslie “Lacey” J. Kraft, 70, passed away Monday, Oct. 19, 2020 at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness. Lacey was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Wayne and Patricia (Smith) Hatch. On Sept. 22, 1974 she married John H. Kraft at Our Lady of Lourdes. Surviving are her husband and sons, Stephen and Matthew (Leah) Kraft all of Altoona; sisters, Annette (Randy) Keltz of Altoona, Marcia Hatch (Pat Grabowski) of Waynesboro, VA.; brothers, Mike (Barb) Hatch of Altoona and Rick (Mich) Hatch of Martinsburg; seven grandchildren: Alex (David Bood), Zach, Sarah, Meghan, Anna, Nicholas, and Michael Kraft; four great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by brothers, Dave, Keith and Stephen (Diane) Hatch. Lacey was a 1967 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. Lacey retired as Head Teller at M&T Bank after many years of service, she had previously worked at Riverside Markets. After her retirement, she worked at Martin’s Foods and as a CNA at the Presbyterian Home in Hollidaysburg. Lacey enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels and was a Tax Preparer for Blair Senior Services. She enjoyed playing Dominos and Bunco with friends, in her down time she did cross-stitch, read and loved spending time with her grand-children, traveling with her husband John and trips to the beach, “Lacey’s Happy Place”. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers Memorial contributions to be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38015 or stjude.org/give.     I was so saddened to hear of Lacey's passing. I remember her fondly working together at the bank. She was always happy and everyone loved her. My condolences to the family.

    I had the good fortune of working with Lacey at Blair Senior Services during tax season. She was always so cheerful and outgoing. I am so very sorry for your loss. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
