Lillian R. Hallinan, 90, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, passed away at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg Thursday evening.
She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Schoch) Rahm. Lillian married Thomas “Tim” Hallinan on Oct. 23, 1954, he preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2010.
Lillian is survived by her son and his wife, Timothy and LuAnn Hallinan of Altoona; a daughter, Joyce (Doug) Hallinan-Jones of Rockville, MD; six grandchildren: Thomas (Chelsea) Hallinan, Kelly (Jed) Soyka, Jane Hallinan, Julie Hallinan, Sean Hallinan and Chad Hallinan; four great-grandchildren: Lily and Lucas Hallinan and Calvin and Laurel Soyka; and a daughter-in-law, Diane Hallinan; two brothers: Francis and Kenneth Rahm both of Altoona; and two sisters: Dolores Schirf of Tipton and Bertha Lear of Altoona and sister-in-law, Frances Hallinan of Altoona.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Edward and Paul; four of her siblings: Joseph Rahm, Robert Rahm, Erna Hocherl and Helen Hanlon.
Lillian was a 1950 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. She was employed by the draft board and the Mailroom, she had also been a long-time judge of elections.
She enjoyed bowling, but especially loved caring for her family and spending time with all of her children and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4-8 pm on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, March 14, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Lubomir Strecok celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The family asks that contributions be made in Lillian’s memory to: St. Vincent de Paul Society Soup Kitchen, 2201 Union Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16601.
