Obituary For Linda L. Cacciotti

Linda L. Cacciotti March 18, 1944-September 8, 2022

Linda L. Cacciotti, 78, Altoona, passed away at her home surrounded by her family after an extended illness. She was born in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Anthony and Ruth (O’Malley) Mattiello. Linda married Carl R. Cacciotti on May 1, 1965 at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. Linda is survived by her husband of 57 years; a daughter, Sue (Mark) Sherburne of Kensington, MD; five sons: Bill (Eliesha) Cacciotti of Johnstown, Christopher (Kristine) Cacciotti, Mike (Becky) Cacciotti, Matt (Jen) Cacciotti all of Altoona and Marc (Cassie) Cacciotti of Somerset; fourteen grandchildren: Anthony, Victoria, Vincent, Marissa, Julia, Dominic, Michael, Rocco, Gina, Gabriel, Maria, Lidia, Leo and Sylvia; her brother, John Mattiello of Altoona and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Mattiello and sister, Lana James. Linda was a 1962 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School. She was previously the librarian at McNelis Elementary School and enjoyed volunteering for the March of Dimes and Altoona Little League. Linda was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and was previously a member of Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. She enjoyed all sports, but especially liked watching her kids and grandkids play baseball. Linda also enjoyed cooking, going to the beach and flower gardening. Linda especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was deeply committed to her faith. Friends will be received from 2-6 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 806 11th St., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery. The family requests that donations be made in Linda’s memory to one of the following: Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School, 2400 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, Pa. 16602, Altoona Area Little League Baseball Association, P.O. Box 1263, Altoona, Pa. 16603, OR UPMC Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Dr., Altoona, Pa. 16601. Arrangements are provided by The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602.
