Lois Ann (Down) Gordon

September 6, 1952-March 17, 2025

Lois Ann (Down) Gordon, 72, Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lois (Schmerbeck) Down.

Lois married James J. Gordon on September 9, 1978.

She is survived by her loving husband, James of 46 years; a son, Samuel L. Sunderland and a daughter, Sherry Sunderland, both of Altoona; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; her brother, Edward Kreuz and her sister, Nancy Tarango, both of Altoona.

Lois was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Sunderland; a grandson, Thomas Gvozd and her brother, Thomas Down.

She was a graduate of Altoona High School and went on to computer school.

Lois retired from SKF Industries, she had also worked for Phonepower, Shirley Shoes and James Industries.

She enjoyed painting, bowling and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

There will be no visitation or services.
