Mabelle “Mae” Polo-Fanelli

September 25, 1964-August 6, 2026

Mabelle “Mae” Polo-Fanelli, 61, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026. She was born in The City of David in the Province of Chiriqui in Panama, the daughter of the late, Niconor Antonio and Ensa Cheva de Polo.

She married Mark Fanelli; he survives her along with three children: Keegan Moore-Polo, Maia Moore-Polo and Brianna Moore-Polo; and two grandchildren: Rosalee and Alijah.

Mae was the last of ten children, with seven brothers and two sisters preceding her in death.

She moved to the United States at the age of 18 and attended Louisiana State University. Mae graduated from Millersville University with a BA in Spanish and a minor in English as a second language.

Mae worked as a medical language interpreter for Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital and was proud of her ability to help families in times of need. She always gave of herself and brightened the dreariest of days of those around her, with her charm, wit and humor. Mae will sorely be missed by her family and friends.

A reception of family and friends will be held from noon-3 pm, Saturday, September 26, 2026 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
