Margaret McNelis

December 31, 1952-May 25, 2024

Margaret McNelis, 71, longtime resident of the Ebensburg Center, formerly of Newry, passed away Saturday at Select Specialty Hospital-Johnstown after an extended illness. She was born in McKee, the daughter of the late William H. and Violet E. (Elliott) McNelis.

Margaret is survived by her loving siblings: Susan Mock (Jerry), Nancy Brumbaugh, Hugh McNelis (Cindy), Sally Hancock and William McNelis (Sandy); along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Teresa Barnes and her husband, Clyde; and brother, John McNelis and his wife, Patsy and brother-in-law, David Hancock.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 704 Patrick Lane, Newry, PA 16665, by Fr. Allen P. Zeth and concelebrated by Rev. Ronald V. Osinski. Committal will be held at Rosehill Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Ebensburg Center for all the special, kind and compassionate care over the years.
