Obituary For Marilyn D. Capone

Marilyn D. Capone July 25, 1946-Jan. 31, 2023

Marilyn D. Capone, 76, passed away Tuesday at her residence in Hollidaysburg. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Madeline (Friel) Decker. Marilyn married Eugene R. Capone on Aug. 29, 1970 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Altoona. Gene preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2013. Marilyn is survived by her son Aaron Capone of Washington, DC; her daughter, Cristina (Cece) Capone of West Hartford, Connecticut; two sisters: Phyllis Keyes and Cindy Shingler both of Harrisburg. She was a 1964 graduate of Altoona High School and met Gene while working together at The Young Men’s Shop. Marilyn later worked as a Lighting Design Consultant for over twenty years at The Hite Company. Marilyn cherished spending time with her family. She loved traveling, cooking and hosting family and friends. Marilyn most recently was a resident of the Inglenook Apartments in Hollidaysburg. Family and friends will be received from 1-4 pm on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602 where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Monday, Feb. 6, 2023 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 900 N. 4th St., Altoona, Pa. with Fr. Ronald Osinski, celebrant.     You were my Hostess with the Mostess role model for as long as I can remember <3 Everything you did was impeccable, thoughtful, and certainly done with love.
