Obituary For Marilyn G. Hartt

Marilyn G. Hartt April 12, 1932-March 18, 2023

Marilyn G. Hartt, 90 of Martinsburg, formerly Hollidaysburg for 53 years. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Raymond and Grace (Vagts) Giles. She grew up in the town of Hewlett, Long Island, N.Y. In August 1959 she married Edgar R. Hartt. Edgar passed away in March 2005. Marilyn was a graduate of University of Vermont with a BS in education. She taught second grade for 12 years on Long Island before moving to Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania she did a variety of volunteer work, as a member of Hollidaysburg Y Auxiliary, Hollidaysburg and Altoona Friends of the Library, Humane Society Thrift Shop, the Navy League, Meals on Wheels, and the Blairmont Country Club. Surviving are her sister Doris of Medford N.J.; stepson Richard Hartt of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Ashley and Lauren; and her cousin Arline Miller. A memorial will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm, March 29, 2023 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Hollidaysburg. Interment will be in Amityville N.Y. Arrangements are provided by The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
