Marjorie J. “Marge” (Craine) Nedimyer

December 30, 1929-July 28, 2024

Marjorie “Marge” J. (Craine) Nedimyer, 94, Altoona, went to join her husband in their heavenly home, Sunday.

She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late, Raymond A. and Florence B. (Melcher) Craine. On May 25, 1957, she married Richard E. (Dick) Nedimyer and after 59 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on May 14, 2016.

Marge is survived by her daughters: Melanie Partner (Ed McGinnis) and Lori Turcovski (Bob) both of Altoona; five grandchildren: Ashley Rutter (Brock), Kristin Zimmerman (Arin), Bryant Partner (Shannon), Eric Turcovski, and Brooke Pins (Jon); six great-grandchildren: Austin, Allison, Andy, Calista, Breanna and Charlotte. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Alice Craine of Greenville and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald R. Craine.

Marge was a 1947 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and had been a Dental Assistant for 14 years.

She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, where she was the president of United Methodist Women, member of the Deborah Circle and Church Council. Marge was a former Girl Scout leader and a founding member of Woodview Garden Club. She belonged to the Delphi and Jobel Court, Ladies Oriental Shrine and Fairview UMC Book Club.

In her younger days, she loved riding horses with her Dad, played saxophone in the band and she cherished her convertible with leopard print seats. Marge made the most incredible pies and loved spending time with her family and caring for her grandchildren. She also treasured her fur babies, most recently, Molly.

Friends will be received from 11 AM-1 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave, Altoona, PA 16602. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 pm in the Stevens Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Fred E. Hickok. Committal will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
