Marvin G. Bradway May 4, 1925-Dec. 9, 2020

Marvin G. Bradway, 95, Altoona, formerly of Meadville, passed away Wednesday at his home. Marvin was born in Meadville to the late, George and Edna (Friederick) Bradway. He was married three times. Elizabeth Donaghue and Mona M. Armstrong who both preceded him in death. Mona L. (Hibbard) Barstow Bradway surviving. He is survived by his wife; and son, Bryan Bradway (Kelly) of New Columbia, step-son, Lawrence Barstow (Susie); four daughters, Barbara Marquardt (Ron), Joyce Bradway, Patricia Fyock (Randy) and Shelly McPherson; step-daughter-in-law, Veronica Barstow; sisters, Shirley Mumford and Lorraine Laney. Marvin had 10 grandchildren: Marcie, Jessica, Benjamin, Lizzy, Chloe, Cole, Justin, Luke, Tanner and Tiffany. He also had 6 great-grandchildren: Lukas, Ryan, Michaela, Kylie, Jacob, and Palmer. Marvin was preceded in death by a stepson, Edward Barstow; one sister, Betty McQueen; brother, Stanley Bradway and a brother-in-law, Richard Hibbard. He served in the United States Army during World War II and served under General Patton, Marvin was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Marvin was a heavy equipment operator in farming. He also retired from Meadville Courthouse as head of maintenance. He was a lifetime member of the 205 VFW in Saegertown, PA. He helped raise 57 foster children. He was a member of Pine Grove Church of Meadville. Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working with wood. Marvin especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Kiser Hill Cemetery. Arrangements provided by The Stevens Mortuary, Inc.
