I am so blessed to have known Miss Mary Ann for about 23 years. Not only I was able to do her hair but I got to listen to all of her stories. My heart breaks for John and all the family. I will truly miss seeing her and her smile. I will miss calling John when she was finished getting her hair done and telling him that his beauty queen is ready. I love them both . God bless you all. Sending love and prayers.

To the Family of Mary Ann Frena I want to introduce myself. I am Pastor Bruce L. Knorpp a retired pastor who served churches in Michigan, Illinois, West Virginia, Maryland and our home state of Pennsylvania. I am known at Elmcroft as Pastor Bruce where my wife, Anita, and I as volunteers have been conducting a Sunday afternoon service for Elmcroft residents and their guests for over 18 years. I believe on March 8th John and Mary Ann visited our service for the first time. We presumed they were relatively new residents. As is my custom, I planned to visit them personally during the week. Since the pandemic was raising it's ugly head, rather than just going in to make the visit as I would normally, I called the Director, Tanya, to see if the visit could be made. She told me that I couldn't visit in resident's apartments, but that the staff would bring them out so that I could visit with them in an activities area. I was able to visit with them in the TV Room. They were very warm and indicated that they had enjoyed the service, especially Mary Ann. She appeared very excited about our services and was looking forward to the next Sunday's service. However, before I departed the facility that morning, I was told that the next Sunday's service was canceled. Not just that next Sunday, but there has not been an in-house service since. All the various volunteers have been banned from the premises due to the Pandemic. Nothing occurred those next four Sundays. Then I was asked if we could do something on Easter Sunday via an audio/video app that they asked me to use; from my smartphone to their tablet. Thus, we have been having an abbreviated service every Sunday afternoon since. It doesn't come close to what we used to do. In a large suitcase, we brought a three ring binder for each resident with the lyrics for each chorus or hymn and the scriptures that I am using in the sermon, each printed in large font and in the order we are using them. We can't do any of that until we are able to get back in. We keep tabs on the obituaries in the newspaper. We were so sorry to learn of Mary Ann's passing. We are sorry for your loss. I am hoping to see John return to our services when volunteers are finally free to enter Elmcroft once again. Pastor Bruce AboundingHope@Yahoo.com
