Mary B. Leighty, 77, Altoona, passed away Friday morning at her residence. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Paul L. and Elva C. (Orr) Rider. She married Richard A. “Dick” Leighty who preceded her in death on May 1, 2014.

She is survived by three daughters: Helen Grim (Scott Snyder), Maria Wills (Brian), and Catherine Grim, all of Altoona; seven grandchildren: Brandon, Kevin, John, Christa, Eric, Christopher, and Chad; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Rider.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Shawn and a brother, Paul Rider, Jr.

Mary retired as a seamstress at Warnaco. She was of the Catholic faith and was a former member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church.

Mary was a member of the Cesare Battisti Club, Iaia American Legion Post, and the James L. Noble VFW Post #3. She enjoyed sewing and embroidering.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
