Mary L. Torres

Sept. 16, 1941-March 8, 2024

Mary L. Torres, 82, Altoona, passed away Friday at Maybrook Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Mary Agnes (Hornung) Gohs. Mary joined Ramon Torres in marriage on August 4, 1972. He preceded her in death in April of 2009.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Kirkpatrick and her husband, Brian of Altoona; two grandchildren: Max and Mara Kirkpatrick; and her sister, Linda Long of Fort Myers, Florida; along with nieces and nephews in Ohio and Florida.

She served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Upon leaving the Air Force, she became a business owner and retired after 35 years in medical equipment sales.

She enjoyed sewing, reading, listening to music and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 9-10 am, Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, PA 16602, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 10 am in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Fr. Brian Norris, officiant. The service will conclude with military honors.
