Obituary For Mary R. Pellegrini

Mary R. Pellegrini January 3, 1938-April 10, 2024

Mary R. Pellegrini, 86, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at her residence. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Steinbugl) Hipp.

Mary is survived by her loving sons: John J. Pellegrini of Havre De Grace, Maryland and Raymond G. Pellegrini (Amy Heverly) of Altoona; four grandchildren: Shawn (Hope), Dominick, Macy and Maura; one great-granddaughter, Giuliana; two brothers: Raymond Hipp (Debbie) and Thomas Hipp (Sherry) all of Duncansville; and sister, Marcelline Hamman of Martinsburg; numerous friends; especially, Dee Burchfield, Stephen S. Burchfield and Mary Jo Boley.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dana Pellegrini and three brothers: Joseph, Ronald and David Hipp.

Mary was a graduate of Altoona Catholic High School. She went on to work in the jewelry business for over 30 years at Gordons Jewelers.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mary enjoyed cooking, watching the Steelers and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 3-6 pm on Monday, April 15, 2024 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a vigil for the deceased will be held.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 511 20th St., Altoona, PA 16602 with Fr. Lubomir Strecok, celebrant. Committal will be held at Calvary Cemetery.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Mary’s memory to; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105/www.stjude.org/memorial.
