Matthew Paul Zakrzwski

January 11, 1973-April 30, 2025

Matthew Paul Zakrzwski, 52, of Altoona, unexpectedly passed away Wednesday evening at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, the son of Linda L. (Cassidy) Zakrzwski and the late Matthew P. Zakrzwski.

He is survived by his Mom; three daughters: Torri, Krystin and Kasey; four grandchildren: Lydia Marie, Braxyton, May-May and Ivy; his fiancée, Shena Nolan and her children: Ronnie, Shane and Kamy; his brother, Thomas A. Zakrzwski of Florida and his sister, Teresa A. Zakrzwski of Virginia and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Matthew worked at Tony & Ryan’s Upholstery Shop for 19 years and was a bus driver for the Altoona Area School District.

He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Matthew was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Thursday, May 8, 2025 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Fr. John Lynam, celebrant.

Committal will take place at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in Matthew’s memory to: Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.

    Dear Matthew Well I'm the oldest however you are mom and dad's blessing. You a love child for sure. You as a parent and grandpa I believe patience came from Dad to you.     My dad was a great hard working man. He loved his 3 kids 4 grandchildren amd his ex wife and his fiance and her 3 kids. My dad always tried to have a smile on everyones face. Dad you will be severely missed and loved by many many people rest easy up there dad

    Matthew was my brother and a great brother to grow up with I lost touch with him when I left Altoona I now wish I would have kept in touch I love you little brother soften up St.peter to get me thru heaven gates cause I know you are in heaven with Dad ,pappap grandma cause with all the children you had u got to be part saint

    Matt was a great man with a big caring heart. I had the privilege to know Matt thru STA I couldn't have asked for a better friend than him. Buddy you'll be forever missed. R.I.P Matt.
