Matthew S. Myers

April 7, 1980 - September 27, 2023

Matthew S. Myers, 43, of Johnstown, passed away Wednesday as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born in Creston, Iowa, the son of Steven Myers and Linda (Lay) Myers. Matthew married Daphne J. Shniper on May 20, 2008.

Matthew is survived by his loving wife, Daphne Myers; three children: Annabeth Myers at home, Brittany Shniper and Robert Shniper, both of Pittsburgh; his father and step-mom, Steven and Sandy Myers of Overland Park, Kansas; his mother, Linda of St. Peter's, Missouri; two sisters: Cheri Westcott of St. Peter's, Missouri and Christa Lewis of Olathe, Kansas; also his in-laws, Timothy and Jeanne Frederick of Altoona; three sisters in-law: Jessica Reeder of Harrisburg, Michele Frederick of Duncansville and Jamie Snyder of McVeytown and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and June Myers and maternal grandparents, Harold and Darlene Lay.

He was a 1999 graduate of Olathe North High School in Olathe, Kansas. He also attended Johnson County Community College in Kansas.

He enjoyed camping, was a great cook and baker and especially loved playing video games with his daughter. He was a true family man. He loved and cared for his family passionately. He worked hard but always had a smile on his face. He liked classic movies and his favorite holiday was Christmas.

A celebration of Matthew's life will be held at a later date.
