Michael T. Ciavarella

“DJ Mikey”

Michael T. “DJ Mikey” Ciavarella, 67, Altoona, passed away last Friday at his residence.

He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Michael and Grace (DelMastro) Ciavarella.

Michael is survived by his support family: Donna Hayes and Bernie Diehl, Katrina and Adam Burick; his North Star Services family: Lindsey Anderson, Janelle Domonkos and all of his tower friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Rick Ciavarella.

Michael had previously worked for the Association for the Blind and enjoyed delivering for Meals on Wheels. Most recently he was helping get produce boxes to shut ins.

Music was the center of his life and DJ Mikey would spin the tunes for all of the parties in his apartment building. He enjoyed riding his bike while listening to his music. Michael loved everything about the holidays, from setting up for different events and parties, but especially decorating for all of them. He loved his apartment, with all his electronics and Michael enjoyed cooking chili, goulash, pasta and French toast at his home. He loved going out to eat as well, Pizza Hut or especially Family Pizza. Michael enjoyed family gatherings and camping trips with his DSP/family, Donna, Bernie, Katrina and Adam.

Friends will be received from 11 am-1 pm, Friday, September 8, 2023 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1 pm in the Stevens Memorial Chapel. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
