Obituary For Michael "Mike" E. Dongell

Michael E. “Mike” Dongell July 26, 1962-May 30, 2021

Michael E. “Mike” Dongell, 58, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Dr. Robert Dongell and Barbara Ann (Reavel) Dongell-Adams. Mike married Tammy Wills on September 8, 1990. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 30 years; a daughter, Mikayla Dongell; a son, Chad Dongell both of Pittsburgh; a brother, Jon Dongell; and sisters: Stephanie Wood, Stacy Dongell and Dr. Leslie Dongell; his Father-in-Law, Dale (Connie) Wills; brother-in-law, Terry Wills and his Uncle, Dr. Edward (Lynn) Dongell. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Judy Wills. Mike was a 1980 graduate of Altoona High School. He went on to work for Fiore Toyota, Volkswagon, Audi for over 30 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hollidaysburg. Mike enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, gardening and working with horses. He most especially loved spending time with his family, friends and dogs, Weston and Ressa. Friends will be received from 2-6 pm on Friday, June 4, 2021 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to: Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, Pa. 16648 OR Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E.     To Mike's family: Through being caught up in my own life, I never heard the news. Mike was a friend a lifetime ago. He was man with a good heart, and a sense of humor. Mike always seemed to be smiling and would do anything for you. Finding Mike's passing, just today, has definitely saddened my day. Till we meet again my friend... Jeffrey L.

    I can't begin to state the impact the Mike has had in my life. My love for him was as genuine as if we were blood brothers. The memory of Michael will live with me for all the days of my life.
