Mildred A. “Dolly” Halow June 7, 1951-April 1, 2023

Mildred A. “Dolly” Halow, 71, Altoona, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona, following a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Max and Bertha (Hugar) Friedenberger, Sr. Dolly married Philip E. Halow, Sr. on June 11, 1994 in Altoona. Dolly is survived by her loving husband; four sons: Jaimie Miller (Amber), Brian Miller, Travis Miller (Benjamin Cheng), Philip E. Halow, Jr. (Jennifer Walker) and her daughter, Melissa Johns all of Altoona; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Max Friedenberger, Jr. (Sharon) of Woodbury; three sisters: Mary Louise Raihl (Jim) and Susan Householder (Greg) all of Altoona and Eileen Smith of Duncansville; also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Cronmiller; four infant children: Christopher, Matthew, Heather and Brent; and also, an infant grandson, Dylan. She had attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Dolly was a homemaker, caregiver and baker; she enjoyed being on the computer, Facebook, playing card games, the “Twilight Saga” and “Days of Our Lives.” She enjoyed fishing and picnicking, loved her dogs: Bandit, Hope and Sammy; but most of all, Dolly loved spending time with her family. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, April 6, 2023 in the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Rev. Douglas McGaffin. Committal will be held at Alto Reste Park.
