Obituary For Minnie Lou Ferguson

Minnie Lou Ferguson April 14, 1927 – November 7, 2020

Minnie Lou Ferguson, 93, Altoona Center for Nursing Center, formerly of Ironton, OH., passed away at UPMC Altoona on Saturday. Minnie was born in Ironton, OH, daughter of the late Oscar and Martha (Mills) Ferguson. Surviving are a son, Stephen Ferguson; and daughters: Karen and Nadine Ferguson of Altoona and Iyana Amayani of Oakland, CA; brother, John Marvin Ferguson of Oakland, CA; a host of family members, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Minnie was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Jean Johnson, Elsie Fletcher and a granddaughter, Patience Ferguson. She was a graduate of Ironton High School in Ohio and the Altoona School of Commerce of Altoona, Pa. She worked for the Patterson Family, for Sky Brothers, and retired from the Altoona Police Department as a Police and Fire Engine Dispatcher with 20+ years of service.     Just want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, so many memories that could make a Life Time seem so short. And what a life it was.Although I can't be there in person know that I'm there with you in spirit and in thoughts and in love.     Dear Karen, Nadine, Stephen and Iyana, My brother and sisters and I send our loving thoughts and deep condolences to you on the passing of your wonderful mother, Minnie. Minnie spent ten years with our family working by our mother's side to keep the household running smoothly and to keep the five of us safe and happy. Minnie was a kind and strong presence for us.
