December 7, 1976-June 16, 2026

Misty Dawn Elder, 49, of Altoona, entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Tuesday evening at UPMC Altoona following an extended illness. She was born in Roaring Spring, the daughter of Vicki (Davis) Finnegan and the late Alan Finnegan.

Misty is survived by her mother, Vicki Finnegan (Rocco Scalzi) of Hollidaysburg; her son, Tyler Elder (fiancé, Kylie Mae) of Altoona and daughter, Emily Elder of California; five grandchildren: Braxton, Abrina, Thalia, Oliver and Elora; also, her sister, Kortney Seilhamer of Altoona; and her nieces: Alexis, Addyson and Payton.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Karen Manocchio, Dick and Donna Finnegan.

Misty enjoyed making crafts, especially the diamond dots, going on outings and activities with the deaf community. She was an avid fan of Imagine Wrestling, but she ultimately loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Misty showed tremendous courage and strength over the last several months, she was one of the strongest people you could have ever met and will be forever missed.

Misty was one of the strongest people I know and always championed for her children. No matter what she was personally facing, she always had concern in her eyes and a smile for anyone that she met. My condolences are with her family and I know she is at peace. Always, Heather M. Ivey
