Nancy Ann (Steckroth) Sommer, 87, of Altoona, died Sunday at her home. She was born in Altoona daughter of the late Jack and Lorma (Delozier) Steckroth. She married her husband of 66 years, William Sommer, who survives along with her 4 children: Susan Spallone (Nick), Michael Sommer (Rita), Lisa Snyder (Jeff) and Erica Sommer; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Cathy Anderson (Jim). She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Steckroth (Carol).

Nancy graduated from Altoona High School in 1954 and became a Registered Nurse after earning her Nursing Degree from the Altoona School of Nursing in 1957. She was a member of Altoona Alliance Church and a dedicated homemaker. Nancy enjoyed playing pinochle with family members on Sunday afternoons at the family’s cottage. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, solitaire, picnics, visiting her brother and sister and especially trips to Ocean City, MD. She always had a smile for everyone and loved to volunteer her time.
