Obituary For Patricia A. Gibson

Patricia A. Gibson April 1, 1942 – Jan. 22, 2021

Patricia A. Gibson, 78, Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Glenn and Betty Jane (Rutherford) Irwin. Patricia married John T. Gibson on April 25, 1964, he preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 2016. Patricia is survived by her sons: Michael and John C. Gibson of Altoona and Christopher (Leslie) Gibson of Roaring Spring; nine grandchildren: Elayna, Erica, Cassandra, Cole, Heather, Paige, Jonathon, Jacob and Rachel; seven great-granchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Irwin. Patricia was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from Gibson Auto Sales of Altoona, where she was co-owner with her husband. Patricia had previously worked for several years at Veeder Root. She was a lifetime member of the Bavarian Aide Society. Patricia enjoyed bowling, where she proudly competed in the PA State Bowling Championships in the 1980’s. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Due to the current Covid pandemic there will not be any visitation or services at this time, but the family will have a celebration of Patricia’s life in the coming months.
