Patricia E. Sassano, 87, Altoona, passed away Friday evening at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Ashville, daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Wills) Wills. On March 9, 1999, she married Richard Sassano. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2020. Surviving are a son, Joe Pabian; and two daughters: Nancy Mallery and Patty Deyarmin, all of Altoona; six grandchildren: Nancyann Daugherty, James (Katrina) Mallery, Raymond (Daniele) Deyarmin Courtney Pabian, Christian Pabian and Erin (Matt) Nachtman; seven great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and a sister, Luella Gray. Patricia was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Altoona. She had been a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and enjoyed search word puzzles and playing solitaire. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, in the Stevens Memorial Chapel, Father Lubomir Strecok officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Altoona.
