February 19, 1957-April 26, 2024

Patricia Joanne (Bucarelli) Fromknecht, 67, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 26, 2024, surrounded by her family. Pattie was born in Erie, PA and relocated to Altoona, PA in 1995.

While taking night classes at Gannon University, she met Joseph R. Fromknecht in 1977; they married in 1979 and have been happily married for 45 years.

Pattie was a true volunteer by nature. She volunteered for multiple committees at each parish community that she belonged to and with the Catholic Daughters of America. Her greatest love was volunteering at the Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home, where she was just named Outstanding Volunteer for 2023.

Pattie was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Dorothy (Korn) Bucarelli, and her brother, Anthony Bucarelli.

She is survived by her husband Joseph R. Fromknecht; son Joseph M. Fromknecht and his wife Julie, Sicily; daughter Elissa Suhoney and her husband Joshua, Tyrone; and daughter Sarah Fromknecht, Altoona; and her sister Elizabeth Bucarelli, Erie. She is also survived by her pride and joy, her three grandsons, Gideon Suhoney and Benjamin and Cole Fromknecht.

We request that all of Pattie’s loved ones join us in celebrating her beautiful life. The viewing will be on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at The Stevens Mortuary, 1421 8th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 806 11th Street, Altoona, PA 16602.

Oh my, regardless of how you felt physically, you always brought your best self. I learned so much from you about creativity and fun! You opened your home and taught me the "ins and outs" of Catholic Daughters Education Contest. We had State contest winners and honored our Court's Circle of Love. I treasured you reminders about the "Novena of the Month" I miss your laugh already. Rest in peace dear Catholic Daughter sister!
