He built a Whitman Tailwind and restored a 1946 Taylorcraft airplane earning the coveted Grand Champion honors at the EAA National Fly-In in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in 1991, then The Preservation Award in 2014.

Paul enjoyed hunting trips and was often found at 7-H Skeet Club or the Patton Sportsman Association. He was also an enthusiast of motorcycles and automobiles, participating in autocross racing when he was young and building a 1943 Ford Coupe Street Rod in his later years. He enjoyed traveling and camping, especially when it allowed him to escape the cold winter months.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Baker-Sell private airport, located at 4686 Woodbury Pike, Woodbury, PA 16695.
