Ralph Caputo, Jr.

March 9, 1930-June 1, 2023

Ralph Caputo, Jr., 93, Old Bridge, New Jersey, a 54-year resident of South River, New Jersey and formerly of Altoona, passed away Thursday morning at his residence.

He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Ralph and Audrey M. (Glasgow) Caputo, Sr. Ralph married Betty Joyce Fogle and spent 55 years together until her death on August 6, 2009.

Ralph is survived by his two children: David R. Caputo (Jennifer) of Rhode Island and Susan L. McCauley (Carl) of New Jersey; four grandchildren: Corey McCauley and Chris McCauley (Kristen), Amanda and Megan Caputo; also, two great granddaughters: Cecilia and Margo McCauley.

He was a 1955 graduate of Penn State University. Ralph then began his career with Sears & Roebuck as a Credit/Collection Manager, beginning in Altoona and being given the opportunity to travel and landed in South River, New Jersey.

He was a United States Navy Veteran during the Korean War, serving on the aircraft carriers U.S.S Monterey and U.S.S Toledo.

Ralph was an avid Penn State fan and lover of all sports. He especially loved spending time with his family.

Friends will be received from 5-7 pm, Monday, June 5, 2023 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16602.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1401 12th Ave., Altoona, Pa. 16601 by Rev. Dr. Barry R. Folmar. Interment will be held at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
