Randy W. Irwin, Sr.

July 6, 1961-October 22, 2025

Randy W. Irwin, Sr., 64, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday at Select Specialty Hospital-Johnstown. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late William and Lutitia (Caswell) Irwin.

On May 25, 1985, Randy married Tina Kelly.

He is survived by his loving wife and three children: Randy W. Irwin, Jr. (Justine), Chad M. Irwin, Sr. (Amanda) and Danielle N. Irwin (Parker Allen) all of Altoona; five beloved grandchildren: Chad “CJ” Irwin, Jr., Christian Irwin, Jaxon Irwin, Harrison “Harry” Irwin and Ava Allen; his adopted sons: Mike Renz (Kelsey) and Mike Wachter; life-long friend, John Nagle; a brother-in-law, Harry Dodson (Trish); sister-in-law, Kathy Kyle; and a cousin, Christopher Gibson (Leslie).

Randy was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Irwin.

He was a 1980 graduate of Altoona Area High School and was a graduate of MTA Truck Mechanic School.

Randy was the owner of R&J Quality Services, worked at Norfolk Southern in the Juniata Shops and previously at F.L. Smithe.

He was a member of the Hiram Lodge 616, Jaffa Color Guard and the Jaffa Shrine.

Randy loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, going to their sporting events. He also liked driving his convertible, cooking on the grill and taking walks.

Friends will be received from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, Monday, October 27, 2025 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., where a Masonic service will be held.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the Stevens Memorial Chapel with Rev. Fred E. Hickok.

Interment will be held at Alto Reste Cemetery.
