Rebecca M. “Becky” Hatfield

Rebecca M. “Becky” Hatfield, 89, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at Maybrook Hill Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center following a brief illness.

She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Mahersal “Mac” and Nellie (Slaughter) Thomas. Becky married George E. Hatfield.

She is survived by her loving husband, George of Altoona and daughter, Sheila Hatfield of California; two sisters: Marion Tyler of Altoona and Maxine Kimbrough of NC and a brother, Aubrey Thomas of CA.

Becky was preceded in death by five sisters: Winnona Thomas, Hazel Thomas, Jacqueline Fleming, Diane Washington and Roxie Thomas; and four brothers: Dr. Gerald Thomas, Raymond Thomas, Joseph Thomas and Bonnie Thomas.

She enjoyed watching the news, knitting and baking, but most importantly, Becky loved her time with friends and family. Becky was a devoted wife, mother and helpmate to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
